    1. Introduction

At RevArt, our mission is rooted in empowering artists and fostering their creative pursuits. Artists have frequently asked us about:

    • After I sell my physical work, how will I monetize my copyright?
    • How can I break into the home decor market?
    • What should I do if I want to make prints but am concerned about degrading the quality of my art?

That’s why we are excited to start a giclee print service to provide artists with a gateway to monetize their invaluable intellectual property. By transforming their original artworks into exquisite giclee prints, we aim to open new avenues for artists to showcase their talent and generate additional revenue streams.

    What is Giclée Print?

Derived from the French word "gicler," which means "to spray," giclee printing is a cutting-edge digital printing process that utilizes high-resolution inkjet printers. Unlike conventional printing methods, giclee prints boast an exceptional level of detail, color accuracy, and archival quality, making them indistinguishable from the original artwork. Inkjet technology enables the reproduction of artwork with precise color matching and a broad spectrum, ensuring each print is a genuine masterpiece.

Why do we suggest artists do giclée prints?

Serious artists should embrace giclee prints for their undeniable benefits.

    1. Unparalleled quality:

High-resolution inkjet technology preserves complex details, brilliant colors, and nuanced tones, creating copies nearly indistinguishable from the original artwork.

    1. Artistic Reproduction:

As limited edition prints, giclee reproductions maintain the exclusivity and value of the original artwork, enticing collectors and art enthusiasts alike.

    1. Archival Quality:

Giclee prints are crafted using archival materials, ensuring that the reproductions have an extended lifespan.

    1. Strengthening Brand Identity:

Consistent, high-quality giclee prints boost an artist's brand. The art community and collectors trust this professionalism and excellence.

    1. Building Artistic Legacy:

Giclee prints immortalize an artist's vision. These prints can inspire future artists.

    1. Gallery Representation:

Galleries and art institutions often prefer working with artists who offer giclee prints of their original works.

Why are limited edition giclée prints important?

Embodying the spirit of exclusivity and artistic integrity, limited edition prints are meticulously numbered and signed by the artist or galleries, ensuring that only a select number of reproductions exist. This approach adds value to the artwork, making it highly sought-after by collectors and connoisseurs alike. Our commitment to limiting the edition size ensures the rarity and uniqueness of each giclee print, allowing artists to maintain the exclusivity of their creations.

    RevArt Giclée Print Service

We currently only support limited edition Giclee Print service. All copies will be numbered and certificated by RevArt. The collector will receive a certification and an introduction of the print.

The paper we use is Hahnemuhle German Etching 310 gsm, which is a traditional mold-made copperplate printing paper, complete with an inkjet coating designed especially for FineArt applications. The white art paper's exceptional velvety tactile feel and fine, distinct felt structure are characteristics of its 100% alpha-cellulose composition.

The Process of Giclee Print Service

    1. You should prepare a high-resolution image. The image resolution should be over 300 PPI at the final print size.

💡How to determine PPI from JPEG or PNG? Learn More.

For example, if an image is 2400 pixels wide and 1800 pixels high and its physical size is 8 inches by 6 inches, the PPI calculations would be as follows:

    PPI (Width) = 2400 pixels ÷ 8 inches = 300 PPI

    PPI (Height) = 1800 pixels ÷ 6 inches = 300 PPI

    Average PPI = (300 PPI + 300 PPI) ÷ 2 = 300 PPI

💡 If your digital image is over 7,200 x 10,800 px. It should be good enough for all prints on RevArt.

    1. Update your piece under Artwork in SMART Manager.

    1. Remember to choose “Sell Print” when you select “Business Type” during the process of updating pieces.

    1. You can decide on the quantity and final retail price of your print.
    • RevArt's default quantity is 50.
    • You can change the markup percentage to decide on the final retail price. The default markup is 20%; you can see the default price list here.

    💡What is markup?

Markup is the additional amount added to the cost of a product or service to determine its selling price. It is typically expressed as a percentage and calculated using the formula:

    Markup = (Selling Price - Cost Price) / Cost Price * 100.

    For example:

If the cost price of a product is $50 and the markup is 40%, the selling price would be calculated as follows:

    Markup Margin = $50 (Cost Price) x 40% (Markup Percentage) = $20

    Selling Price = $50 + $20 = $70

As an artist, you will earn $20.

    1. You publish your piece. Now you can rest, and the rest will be left to us.

    1. We will review your image to make sure it is good for production. When a customer places an order, we will produce the prints and number them, and then we will package and ship to the customer.

    1. You will receive a notification of the order.

    1. After the order is fulfilled, you will get paid. You can also go to “Order” to check how many prints have been sold.

    Earnings of Artists

We currently provide three frames for the prints, and we will further develop our inventory support.

You can always update how much you want to earn by updating the markup percentage.

If you have other print projects that are not supported here, you can email contact@revart.co.
