My artistic practice involves a great deal of research and exploration. History is a key component of my artistic intent, especially my own ancestral linkages. With this piece I imagine what they might have seen and felt, during those rare glimpses at the vastness of the Atlantic ocean as they journey into the unknown.
My use of tar dominates the painting because it is organic and unforgiving, as it ties me to the earth and what lies beneath its surface.
In the end I hope that the view feels what my ancestors must have felt. Need Help? Contact firstname.lastname@example.org
