AI is a powerful multifunctional tool. In Belo’s practice, it plays a role of an assistant forming a poll of knowledge related to art, human being and functioning of nature. Which serves as a foundation to transform this knowledge to an artwork.
Belo doesn't use AI for generating artworks but allows the idea that AI could work as a co-creater of a digital artwork for conceptual artists. While AI generates visual components, it leaves the conceptual part and storytelling to the artist, ultimately creating a hybrid form of digital media that blends human vision and creativity with technological execution creating a visual representation of artist's ideas.
Additionally, for non-creation part art, AI can help to perform simplified technical analysis and advanced historical analysis of works.

Belo sees three different approaches to recognize and secure authorship based on of ways of creating AI artwork.
#1 Approach:
The concept of the artwork originates from the artist, while AI utilizes styles derived from existing works, incorporating ideas from previously created pieces. Authorship could potentially belong to the AI-artist, as stylistic solutions from other artists might be integrated into new creations. In this process, the AI generator functions as a tool or instrument. However, this raises the question of the value of such works, given their perceived lack of novelty and, in some cases, the artificial nature of their creation.
#2 Approach:
The concept of the artwork originates from the artist, while AI applies fundamental principles of art to create, design, and form a visual image in a unique and innovative way. In this context, the AI generator acts as both a co-author and an instrument, with authorship shared between the artist and the AI tool. This raises questions about the unpredictable quality and aesthetic solutions of such works, as well as the reduced role of the artist in the creative process.
#3 Apprach:
The concept of the artwork is entirely driven by AI, which employs fundamental principles of art to create, design, and form a visual image. In this process, AI assumes the roles of both author and instrument, with full authorship attributed to the AI itself. This raises a critical question: will people perceive and recognize the value of such works, given the absence of human participation in their creation?
Authorship can range from being entirely attributed to the artist to being fully assigned to the AI, depending on the nature of the artwork’s creation. The balance of contribution between the artist and AI determines where authorship is ultimately placed.
Given the consistently evolving and complex nature of AI, exact authorship might be defined in percentages in the future by AI algorithms themselves. This approach could allow for a proper and precise definition of the roles of all parties involved in the creative process. However, this could significantly complicate the understanding and application of authorship laws compared to how we know them today.
