Artistic Background and Style

"I have a background in the scientific field with a degree in physics," Repossini explains. "Throughout my career, while dedicating time to teaching, I have continued to nurture my passion for art, creating paintings and participating in exhibitions, galleries, and art fairs."

Repossini’s artistic approach combines classical traditions with personal innovation. As he describes, "My preferred artistic style is inspired by the realism of classical masters but includes my personal interpretations in shape and color combinations." While he began his artistic journey with oil paints, he has since transitioned to acrylics and explores mixed media techniques, including "pastels, collages, and sponges to apply color more quickly on large canvases."

Sources of Inspiration

When discussing his creative inspiration, Repossini emphasizes his connection to the natural world: "My inspiration stems from observing the real world. I use compositional schemes based on reality, which I translate into my personal pictorial narrative." His landscapes carry a distinct characteristic, as he explains: "My landscapes, often silent and almost always deserted, are imbued with a sense of solitude—not in a melancholy way but as an appreciation of nature's grandeur." He aims to  "capture the fundamental elements of nature, inviting viewers to rediscover aesthetic and inner beauty in a harmonious and balanced composition."

Digital Evolution and Artist Reach

The digital age has significantly impacted Repossini's ability to share his work. "Digital platforms have provided me with unprecedented access to a global audience," he notes. "Social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok allow me to showcase my portfolio to millions, without the need for gallery representation." He particularly values the immediate engagement these platforms offer, mentioning the benefit of receiving "real-time feedback on my works through comments, likes, and shares."

Technology and Art's Future

Repossini maintains a balanced view on the intersection of technology and art. While acknowledging that "AI and automation have become integral to art creation," he expresses concern about "a risk that art could lose its deeply human essence." He has personally explored technological integration in his practice, noting that he sometimes uses "an AI application trained with my own works to create new digital art."

Regarding the future of traditional galleries, Repossini believes they will retain their importance: "I believe physical galleries will continue to play a vital role in the art world, offering immersive experiences that online platforms can't replicate. The atmosphere, scale of artworks, and direct engagement with curators or artists are invaluable."

Looking Forward

Repossini envisions exciting possibilities for art presentation and viewer engagement. As he states, "To deepen the connection between art and its audience, innovations like immersive VR and AR can enhance the emotional, intellectual, and sensory experience of viewing art." This perspective reflects his ongoing interest in bridging traditional artistic practices with emerging technologies while maintaining the essential human connection in art.

Through this conversation, Repossini emerges as an artist who thoughtfully navigates the intersection of traditional and contemporary approaches, embracing technology while remaining grounded in classical artistic values and natural inspiration.
