Ontario-based painter Claudette Losier doesn’t just depict cities; she transforms them. With a style she calls “Abstract Surreal Impressionism,” Losier paints urban environments with the energy of dreams, the intention of healing, and the rhythm of movement. Her art captures the pulse of city life while channeling something far more metaphysical: the vibrational frequency of love, light, and consciousness.

At first glance, her vibrant cityscapes appear energetic and chaotic, but upon closer inspection, they reveal layers of reflection, memory, and transformation. Light, color, and human movement all become metaphors in her work, drawing from both spiritual practice and lived experience.

A Journey Through Light and Color

Losier’s journey into art began early, but her path wasn’t always straightforward. After starting University in business, she quickly realized her true calling was in the creative field. “I liked art in grade school and so took art throughout high school,” she says, “and switched to an Art BA at Brock after my first year of business because I felt the desire to be creative was important to me.”

Her early work focused on florals and swimmers in oil, but in 2012, she made a dramatic pivot. She began experimenting with nighttime city scenes, exploring how artificial light interacts with movement and architecture. This shift also marked a move to acrylics and freehand sketching as she transitioned from using slide projectors to digital photography.

“My lines became more organic,” she explains. “The earlier floral shapes now influence how I draw buildings. There are no rigid, straight lines. That’s what gives my city scenes a dreamlike, surreal quality.”

The City as a Spiritual Mirror

For Losier, urban life is more than background; it’s a metaphor. Themes in her work include the desire we carry into cities, the social choreography of crowded spaces, and the light that reflects from both buildings and bodies. Series like Streetcar Named Desire and Crossing Over explore the symbolism of transportation and movement, while Night Out With My Friends celebrates the collective energy of nightlife.

“Cities are tied to this word ‘desire,’” she says. “We go to them or live in them to feed our desires. There’s energy everywhere: moving cars, buildings, people, light.”

As a longtime meditator and energy worker certified in Reiki and intuitive coaching, Claudette brings spiritual depth to her artistic process. She believes that painting can carry intention and even healing energy. “My work is spiritual about vibrational frequency energies,” she says. “I put the intention into my painting that higher energies flow into the work so the person who buys it will experience an energetic effect.”

Navigating Politics and Purpose

While some of Losier’s earlier work dealt directly with feminist themes, she has since stepped away from overt political messages in favor of something more subtle and transcendent.

“I had done some feminist art earlier on and no one bought that,” she notes with a laugh. “So I try to keep the politics of this world out of it. From my spiritual meditation, the higher dimensions of reality are far more loving and interesting than what we see on Earth. My goal is ‘As Above, So Below.’”

This approach doesn’t remove purpose from her work; instead, it infuses it with a different kind of activism — one rooted in love, peace, and beauty.

Digital Frontiers and Artistic Freedom

Losier is selective in her embrace of digital tools. She utilizes digital photography to inspire her compositions and has developed a solid following on Instagram, where she has attracted commission clients and partnerships, including her current collaboration with RevArt.

However, she’s wary of some trends, especially NFTs. “People have reached out to me to sell my art for NFTs, but they weren’t professional. I need cash sales, not digital tokens,” she says. “Maybe if NFTs are still around in 20 years, I’ll try it.”

She’s more enthusiastic about hybrid opportunities, such as the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, which now allows artists to showcase their work both online and in person. She appreciates the growing flexibility artists have in choosing their paths, something she also discovered through ArtMatch, an online gallery that doesn’t require exclusive contracts or steep commissions.

“I love that kind of freedom,” she says. “Other than the paintings I put with them, they don’t own me. I can show my other work elsewhere.”

Sacred Geometry and Future Work

In addition to painting, Losier is developing a body of work around sacred geometry. She’s creating a sketchbook called 7th Golden Age, where she experiments with intuitive drawings based on spiritual symbols and meditative insights. These “intentional drawings,” as she calls them, allow her to explore energy in a more abstract form.

Her fascination with spiritual symbols and quantum fields may also lead to a career in performance art one day. “I’ve thought of doing performance art with sacred fire energy, which I work with. I want people to feel what I feel from meditation, a peace that’s not of this world.”

Claudette Losier’s Vision for the Future

Her profound spiritual beliefs now guide Claudette’s artistic journey. After 25 years of daily meditation and studying the teachings of the Ascended Masters, particularly the Sacred Fire teachings of St. Germain, her art has evolved into a tool for spiritual transformation. Claudette’s work is centered on the vision of raising life and the 3rd-dimensional frequency to the 5th-dimensional frequency, aligning with the planet's ascension. She is committed to holding the highest vision of all life on Earth, aiming to elevate consciousness and vibrational frequency.

Sacred Fire, a concept connected to St. Germain’s teachings, plays a pivotal role in Claudette’s future artistic endeavors. She believes that Sacred Fire will catalyze the creation of a new civilization, rooted in peace, harmony, and divine love, where endless wars will cease to exist. This vision is reflected in her art, with the 7th Golden Age sketchbook serving as a manifestation of these transformative energies. Through her art, Claudette seeks to share spiritual messages of higher vision, helping others connect to these higher frequencies and embody divine truths that transcend the human and 3rd-dimensional experience.

Painting the Invisible

Claudette Losier’s work reminds us that cities are not just concrete and noise, they’re places of transformation, longing, and spiritual energy. Her paintings, rooted in the everyday but guided by higher intention, offer viewers more than just visual pleasure. They offer a moment of alignment.

As RevArt’s CEO, Patti Pan, put it, “Claudette Losier’s work captivates with the flow and energy pulsating through her art. Her pieces capture the dynamic energy and indomitable spirit of this vibrant city. Her art evokes a sense of unease yet leaves us strangely energized.”

In Claudette’s world, every painting is more than a picture. It’s an energetic field. A reflection. A dream.
