A co-presentation of University of Hawaii - Hilo Art and English Department faculty, that will bring together contemporary visualizations of the complex history of transpacific migration, multiple homelands, colonization, resistance, hybrid culture, and ethnic identity.
The exhibition, in addressing the larger, global context of this diaspora, will highlight the hardship and resilience of vibrant, dynamic, and global Korean communities, coupled with entrepreneurial success in a variety of endeavors, professions, and independence activism.
This international juried Call-For Entry is seeking:
artworks that visualize the essence of the Korean Diaspora, and
audio files that expressively capture the extraordinary migration stories of this culture.
The Call for Entry is open to artists of Korean heritage, age 18 years and older, and of any nationality.
