The Journey to Abstraction
Biswas's artistic evolution took a decisive turn after encountering the works of masters like Anish Kapoor, S.H. Raza, and Velu Viswanadhan in 2010 and 2011. "I started my career as a figurative painter, but I could never fully express my feelings through my work," he reflects. “Seeing their retrospective gave me new inspiration and direction and grew my interest in abstract art.” The abstract works of Mark Rothko, Sean Scully, and Stanley Whitney further shaped his artistic vision, leading him to develop his characteristic style that celebrates life and nature through color and geometry.
A Harmonious Blend of Logic and Intuition
What sets Biswas's work apart is his methodical yet intuitive approach to composition. His creative process is deeply influenced by Indian raga and fusion music, which he translates into visual rhythms through careful arrangement of colors and tones. "It's a contemplative practice that calls for harmony between the logical and the intuition," he explains. This balance manifests in his vibrant geometric abstractions, which invite viewers to form their own interpretations.

Embracing the Digital Age
In an era of rapid technological advancement, Biswas has successfully adapted his practice to incorporate digital tools while maintaining the integrity of traditional painting. "Digital platforms are becoming increasingly significant in the art industry," Biswas notes. These platforms have enabled him to participate in international exhibitions and connect with galleries worldwide, creating new opportunities for exposure and collaboration.
Biswas has also found opportunity with the rise of NFTs and acknowledges their growing significance in the art world. "In addition to purchasing original artwork, I think collectors have been given a unique opportunity by this NFT purchase, and I think NFT will be crucial in controlling the art market moving forward."

In today's politically charged climate, Biswas takes a unique stance through his work. Rather than directly addressing political issues, he seeks to create art that emanates positive energy and promotes mental well-being. "My aim is to raise people's awareness of beauty and positive mindsets through my art," he explains, viewing this approach as "a peaceful protest by the elegant against the vulgar."

Looking to the Future
As the art world continues to evolve, Biswas remains excited about the possibilities of merging traditional and digital techniques. His recent works have been featured on LED screens at international venues, and he expresses interest in exploring computer graphics to add animated elements to his paintings. He also contributes to the artistic discourse through his writing, recently authoring an article on Ellsworth Kelly’s centenary with permission from the Kelly Foundation.
Biswas's work was recently featured in the Artists for Peace Anthology, published by The Arts Association in Geneva, Switzerland, further cementing his position as an artist who bridges cultural and technological divides. His optimistic vision for the future of art embraces both traditional and digital mediums, suggesting that innovation and tradition can coexist and enrich each other in meaningful ways.
